What did you do this past week?

One of the most notable things I’ve done this past week was having a Friendsgiving. Hanging out with some friends was much needed and really fun. I made brownies for this function. They could’ve come out better, but they were good nonetheless. Naturally, I did plenty of homework and studying this past week as well.

What’s in your way?

Not much honestly. I see smooth sailing for the rest of this semester. My priority is internship hunting. I have a handful of dialogues with recruiters that are going well. I also need to figure out if I will come back to campus after Thanksgiving break. I would like to come back after Thanksgiving break because it’s a lot easier to focus here in Austin.

What will you do next week?

I will be making the final push in my schoolwork before Thanksgiving break. I need to make sure not to get lazy so that I can enjoy my thanksgiving break without worrying about schoolwork.

What did you think of The New Methodology?

I feel it was the best paper this semester. Agile methodology is a prevalent concept in CS and the article was very enlightening and clear on why it is so effective and necessary. After reading it, I feel I have acquired a strong grasp of agile methodology so that’s really nice.

What was your experience with SQL?

It’s very ironic that we learned SQL earlier in the semester on our own for our IDB project. But it’s nice now having Downing go over SQL and filling in the holes and questions we picked up in our independent learning. He has provided a better picture of SQL as a whole.

What made you happy this week?

Hanging out with friends was really nice. I also played a lot of high-level volleyball with UT club members.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I was talking to some UT transfers and freshmen… and they don’t know about UT catalyst! UT catalyst shows historical grade distributions for given classes and is very useful when deciding what classes to register. If you’ve never used it when registering for classes, you should really check it out. (If you are a UT student of course)
